Oh, hey, The Full Monty is on.

Wow, the main character seems really familiar. Really familiar. Huhn.

...who is that guy? I know I've seen him in something.

Let's just hit the info button for a second, here...huhn. Robert Carlyle. I know that name, why do I know that name, I...

...oh.

OH.

Oh my god that's Rumpelstiltskin.

And that...is Rumpelstiltskin's butt.

LOL. Ah yes, The Full Monty. As Robert said in an interview, a lot of his stuff pre-Once wasn't very family-friendly, so he couldn't share it with his young kids. I would like to see some of his other stuff, but I wouldn't be comfortable with a lot of it, including this.

The Full Monty isn't even that racy, all things considered...I think you'd be put out more by the language than anything else. I was just thrown by the Rumpelbum once I knew it was a Rumpelbum.

I've known for years I wouldn't like the stripping element, and you're right, I would definitely be irritated by the language too. That's interesting if the language is actually more frequent/explicit than the stripping element, considering that's key to the whole plot. LOL.

Honestly, there wasn't much in the way of onscreen stripping...they only perform their routine at the end of the movie, and then you only see them from the back. It's mostly a movie about a bunch of unemployed guys trying to make some much-needed money by putting on a show and dealing with their insecurities. As movies go, it's mostly cute and sad.

Hmm, that's interesting. I figured there'd be scenes of rehearsals and such. It does sound different than what I was thinking, although I did know that they were trying to raise money.

Odd thing is, The Full Monty actually has a connection with Carmen. I don't know if this is in the movie version, but I believe there's a stage version with songs. The songs were written by David Yazbek, who is Sean's friend. They wrote the Carmen theme song together.
